Spring in the Monadnock Region

"Monadnock Early Morning" pastel painting

Hi Everyone,

Inspired by the beautiful New England landscape I have been busy painting it.  (And lots of gardening too.)  Veggies are coming up, flowers are blooming and birds are singing... its a beautiful time here and  I spend most of my time outdoors.

Spring is a time of rebirth and we are taking time to reflect and heal.  A time to take care of ourselves and our neighbors....

Oh and I am so pleased that people are buying art!  THANK YOU to my new collectors and old friends.   I am so grateful for your support!

And by the way, I am selling "curbside" for you local collectors and offer free shipping for my far away friends.  Its a healing time, and now we need art more than ever.

Check out new features on my website, I am now offering paintings either unframed or framed for those who have been wanting this feature, click here!

And if you are wanting commissioned work I am now accepting requests.  Send an email to "[email protected]" and we will talk!

Finally, for those who are unable to purchase or find masks, I am able to offer them in my print shop!  All images there have this option Click here for the link!

I am so thankful we can connect through emails, social media, etc.  during this time.  Soon we will also be sharing time together in person, but until then, be well, take care and stay in touch.

We are all so deeply connected, sending lots of love xo

Enjoy !

Colors of the Spirit at Monadnock

Colors of the Spirit oil on linen 24x48

"Nature always wears the colors of the spirit." –Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi Everyone,

Easter weekend is upon us and with that the joy of Spring.  New beginnings, starting over, feeling optimistic and of course lots and lots of love all around us...

A gardener since I was a child, I still feel the excitement of ordering my seeds and supplies!  Veggies, flowers, the smell of spring and the sound of spring as well.  The birds are celebrating right along with us.  Its a busy and happy time.  And like all of you, I am grateful to be part of it.

Mount Monadnock is always a favorite painting subject.  And this year is no exception.  This is a larger painting, it flowed right along and was a pleasure to paint.  I used sketches, color notes and photos.  Mostly alot of happy energy, free imagination, great music and a little incense!  My little furry friends, Bojangles and Pepperoni kept me company in the studio and got me outside walking, taking in the fresh air and coming back to the studio with a fresh eye.

Thanks for your continued support, Happy Easter and Happy Spring!

ENJOY!

30 in 30 ~ Day 15

"Illume" oil on linen 12x24

Hi Everyone,

Summertime for me is soft, easy, and smiling.  That's what came to me today in my studio.  Another painting from memory, the memory of a feeling, a place, a time.  I love painting when those feelings emerge.  That's when it all comes together.  That's when it feels magical.  And of course, I hope that feeling translates to you, the viewer.  That's the whole idea!

So January 15, grey & cold outside, but warm and toasty inside.....

Halfway done with my challenge... see you tomorrow!

ENJOY!

"Moonlight and Monadnock" Oil 12x12

Hi Everyone!

This painting practically painted itself (Once I got out of its way!)  And now I will start a couple others, as I want to do this idea in a series.  I first saw this lovely view of Monadnock years ago at a residence in Jaffrey, New Hampshire where I was invited to paint en plein air.  It was delightful and it still is!  Now I paint mostly from memory.  That's what happens to very special places.

So I am done with this today and it was very fun to do.

See you all back here tomorrow!

ENJOY!

"Sunflowers at Monadnock" 9x24 pastel

Hi Everyone!

Its snowing!  A perfect time for painting sunflowers... and Mount Monadnock!  Time flies in the studio, I love it!

This painting is a different size for me, I wanted to change it up a bit.  And I have been thinking about these sunflowers for awhile now.  Today was the day.  Maybe I will do them in oil too.

Stay tuned...

ENJOY!

Painting Monadnock ~ October in New England

"Monadnock Merriment"

Greetings Everyone!

The foliage is exceptional this year here in Southern New England.  Outside my window is gold, electric orange, and every shade of red.  Its quite an experience just looking out !

One of the things I have always enjoyed is painting Mount Monadnock in the autumn.  The colors of the landscape, the cool crisp air, the sounds of nature.... it makes my soul smile.

This painting, "Monadnock Merriment" recently sold at my studio.  And I have been commissioned by a new collector to do another view of Monadnock, with the autumn colors singing throughout.  There is a certain energy this mountain radiates.  To capture that on my canvas is always exhilarating.  And with a painting hanging in your home, you can be taken there over and over again!

So with that I am happily grabbing my paints and heading out into that orange, red and golden world  outside my window!

I hope you are also having a wonderful October, where ever you may be.

Enjoy!

"Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean."– John Muir
