Reflecting on life from Castine Maine

Good Night Castine

Watching the sky turn color after color I am brought back to a time in my life when I didn't see these colors.  When I was struggling through each day after suffering a great loss.  Sadly, I understand what many are dealing with today after recent events in our country.

But eventually, as time went on and the dust settled, I came to see the world around me as a smorgasbord of opportunity and the realization that I must use my life to the best of my ability.   I guess I still do. Reflecting on nature through my work centers me..... which is why I create art.  To bring myself to a place full of possibilities and of course to bring you, the viewer right along with me.  This place for me is joyful.  Even during hard times it brings clarity and comfort.  Even when everything seems wrong, crazy, difficult it brings me peace.  That's what art does.  It heals the painter and the viewer.  It really is that simple.

So today I am grateful for that.
