Painting Reflections ~ JULY~ Summertime in New England

"Garden Bouquet" oil on linen 18x24
Hello Everyone!
Summertime in New England is so precious to me. This year I am watching the robins sitting in their second nest. They have moved from the porch to a Japanese Maple tree in the yard. And the flycatchers (perhaps my favorite bird) are performing for me in their cirque du soleil way, right outside my windows! They amaze me.
Then there are the gardens. They have gone into overdrive this year... veggies and flowers alike. Ah yes a few weeds too....
We are very fortunate in this part of the country. We are enjoying a beautiful balance of sunshine and rain. The days are warm and the nights are cool..... Summertime is magical.
And with all of this beauty, ideas for paintings come easily to me. Actually the hardest decision is always, which to paint first? Flowers? Gardens? Birds? Veggies?
And so it goes...
So this time the flowers have won. I have a thing for them.
I hope you enjoy this garden bouquet. And I hope you are enjoying your summer. (You know...when "the livin' is easy.....")
My wish for you and me....
Stop by the studio and let me know what you are doing this summer. If you don't see me there, just send an email or call ahead. I don't want to miss you!
Enjoy!
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
