Celebrating St Patrick

"Saint Patrick was a gentleman, who through strategy and stealth
Drove all the snakes from Ireland, here's a drink to his health!
But not too many drinks, lest we lose ourselves and then
Forget the good Saint Patrick, and see them snakes again!"

Well its St Patrick's Day and I for one have some Irish in my history and although I have never had green beer, I do celebrate because, well, why not?

My studio is in Antrim as some of you know, and this morning I found this most interesting quote while looking for info on St Patrick today...

"Wandered from the Antrim hills,
Wandered from the Killalas rills,
Patrick heard upon the breeze
Voices from the Irish seas."

I would love to go to Ireland someday…. and I have a dear collector / friend there, I've often wondered if we are related, as her last name is the same as my grandmother's….Well you never know...

Its been a LONG, COLD, winter and I had to have some green in my life so I have been sipping on green cleansing drinks ( the healthy ones….really NOT the beer!)   Since that wasn't nearly enough I also decided I  needed to paint some green….  Mount Monadnock always cheers me up and flowers are uplifting, so that combo seemed just right.

Now they say spring is right around the corner….and although it was only 12 degrees today and quite windy, I think I may have seen a flash of orange out my window just now…and I'm hoping it was the lovely breast of a robin in flight… if not I may be looking for the other green drink, snakes and all…...

Happy ST PADDY'S everyone, however you celebrate, ENJOY!
